GLAHCO Hotels and Tourism Development Company Limited was incorporated in 1992, with the main objective of engaging in the hotel and tourism development business.

In pursuance of this objective, therefore, the company acquired the ownership of the property now operating as The Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra. The Golden Tulip Hotel Accra is a 4-star deluxe hotel with 234 air-conditioned guestrooms.

In January 2008, GLAHCO completed the refurbishment of the then City Hotel into an ultra-modern Golden Tulip Kumasi City. The hotel has since been operational.

GLAHCO has acquired offices, residential premises, flats/bungalows at Labone and Asylum Down and constructed six (6) executive residential houses on the 1st Circular Road in Cantonments. It has also developed a shopping mall on the Cantonments Road in Osu (popularly referred to as Oxford Street) which would house several international and local shops, business and communications entities as well as a nine-storey hotel (still under construction). In partnership with strategic investor, GLAHCO is also building a mixed-use facility on its Airport City property.

The company was established in 1982 on a large tract of land (8,467 acres) it has acquired at Makodzi near Sogakope in the Volta Region for integrated commercial farming.

It is the objective of the company to cultivate on this land agricultural produce for both local and export markets. With 500 acres cultivated, it is currently the largest mango plantation in the country, and has won awards at District, Regional and National farmers day awards for years running.

It is intended that the farm would venture into processing of its fruits on experimental basis and if successful to be extended to the local and export market.
